Save a Click

This tip applies to Windows 98 and Windows Me.

When choosing something from a Windows menu, people usually follow the most logical course:

1. Click on the option along the program's top and watch as the little menu falls down.
2. Then click on the desired item from the little menu.

That's two clicks. You can reduce your finger action to a single click: When you click somewhere to open a menu, keep holding down your mouse button. When the menu drops down, slide the mouse pointer until it rests over the item you want. The release the mouse button to choose that item. You've cut your click work in half!
