Oh No, My Files are Gone! How to recover from a file deletion disaster... What do you do when you find out that for some reason -- whether virus, a slip of a finger, or by a friend's well-intentioned but flailing attempts to clean up your system -- a whole bunch of your files have been deleted?
After you sit down and let your heart recover from the shock, here is what you can do to recover the data on your computer...
Bhim Nimgade, of the MPCUG, will demonstrate, step-by-step, what to do, and will compare several software solutions. He lived through the experience recently and will share one man's sad tale of such a disaster (and coming through alive).
The Madison PC Users Group January 12, 2005 general meeting will feature a presentation on the 2005 Annual Conference of the Association of Personal Computer Groups (APCUG) and the Consumer Electronics Show. Roger Tesch, Bhim Nimgade, and Tom Havighurst will report back on their experiences and discoveries at both events, which they attended in Las Vegas from January 3 to 8.
They will show off some of the glitz and glamor of their time in Las Vegas. This will include pictures from when they were flying above the clouds, walking around Las Vegas, attending activities at the APCUG conference, and meeting old and new friends from other user groups. They will also give insights about some the newest gadgets and gizmos seen at the CES.
