Madison PC Users' Group Executive Board Meeting Notes

 The Executive Board Meeting are generally held on first Wednesday of the month, at 6:00 PM.

They are normally held at the Fluno Center Study Pub, on the 8th floor, at 601 University Avenue, Madison.

MPCUG Board

Attending: Bhim Nimgade, Roger Tesch, Thomas Havighurst

Call to order: 6:45

Announcements:  Thursday March 10 5-7pm there is a Fitchburg Regional Chamber mixer.  Anyone from our group can come.  One must RSVP by Friday.

Approval of minutes.  Postponed.

Reports of Officers:

Bhim Nimgade:  Bhim went to the HTHH.  Before the HTHH, there was a  Pecha chuka.  This was a series of high speed powerpoint presentations.  These were pretty interesting.  This forces people to distill what they are saying and be concise.  Bhim also attended the MadTech meeting, Alnisa Allgood's group.  Alnisa presented information on the MailChimp service.  This is free for light users.  One lesson was to make it easy to unsubscribe from mailing lists.  Bhim thinks this would be a good thing to check into.

Roger Tesch:  Garth may do a presentation at next weeks meeting, touching on upgrading your computer.  Roger is thinking of bring in his Roomba, also.  Jim Gussert will do home networking in April.  Roger saw Eric Selje Monday at the Investment Club meeting.  Bhim suggested asking Eric to give a presentation at some point.

Garth Yeazel: Garth will be presenting next week.  We have $2087.07 in our account. 

Thomas Havighurst:  Tom is helping Jim Gussert install FreeNAS at the cohousing unit.

Unfinished Business:  No old music.  

New Business:  MARA is coming up on April 16^th in Stoughton.  May get laptop ready for MARA.  We may start up a MailChimp account.  March 24^th the Fitchburg Chamber of Commerce is having Business after 5, 5:30-7:00.  The same night, HTHH is at the Brink Lounge.
